Iona will guide students through an hour class with a mixture of asana, pranayama and meditation, allowing you to connect with the breath and movement through a flowing sequence. It will begin to look at sun salutations, hip openers and inversions, helping to develop a deeper understanding of the postures and their alignment whilst creating peace and space in the body and the mind. Morning class will be a dynamic flow with postures helping to energise, open and relax both the body and mind.

For the Retreats

Soul Yoga weekend retreats.

Each retreat will take the form of 48hrs of exploration, Friday to Sunday, filled with time for rest, relaxation and contemplation. You will be guided on a journey taking in different aspects of yoga including the physical, breath work and meditation. The guides with help to facilitate the awakening of a consciousness within each individual. There will be roughly 4 yoga sessions held during your retreat. These will be taught by two different teachers which will allow you to experience a variation in styles, this is because Soul Yoga believe in finding what feels right for each individual.

Informal discussions will be held around topics such as creating balanced life. This may work on incorporating food, work, and play so that we each, feel empowered to make the best decisions for ourselves. The weekend, although a time for yourself, will also incorporate a strong sense of community. The group will take time to prepare some meals together after discussing why particular ingredients have been chosen and how you can use them. This may include some demonstrations too. You will of course have plenty of time which you are free to fill in whatever way you wish.

As with everything offered by Soul Yoga the weekend retreats are open to everyone, whether you have experience with yoga or not.


Yoga fundraising class for Alzheimer's research 

Tuesday 14th June, 7pm Moulin Hall, Pitlochry.

On 14th June I will be hosting a yoga class to raise money for Alzheimer's research. The money raised will go towards th UKs leading research charity ARUK, with their focus on prevention, treatment and cure.

With Alzheimers now a disease close to many of our hearts as we watch loved ones and those around them adjust to a life with Alzheimers. A cause very personal and close to my heart with my own granny has had Alzheimers for the past 10years.

All levels and ages welcome, just bring a mat, comfortable and warm clothing.

Hope together we can raise money and awareness for research in the disease.

Weekend retreat at Colstoun Estate, East Lothian, Scotland.

Iona and Emma will be offering an end of summer yoga and food retreat at the glorious countryside haven of Colstoun Estate, just outside Edinburgh. You will be staying in the beautifully restored barn which is surrounded by acres of garden including lawn, vegetable garden, forest and fields.

There will be yoga classes held both morning and evening in the double height end of the barn. These will give you a chance to flow through physical, breath work and meditation and leave you with a deeper understanding of all aspects of yoga. The yoga will be accompanied by food demonstrations, discussions and group preparation of meals. All parts of the weekend will be tailored to the individuals within it. There will also be free time for you to fill as you wish, you may want to explore the gardens, read or chat with the other guests!

The weekend will be a vegetarian feast with all fresh food coming from the garden which is free of any chemicals or nasties! Emma and Iona will not only be guiding you through all aspects of the weekend, they will also be acting as your hosts making sure that you feel welcome and at home, supporting you with any questions you may have.


We understand that time for yourself is something that is not always at the top of our priority lists. Perhaps now is the time to dive in and try it however, a chance for a little bit of you time, in different surroundings, with time to connect to other like-minded people.

The small print:

  • rooms and bathrooms are on a shared basis
  • you will need to make your own way to and from the retreat
  • as we are exploring options and giving our body a break there will be no alcohol over the weekend
  • arrival is between 5pm and 7pm on the Friday and departure is at 4pm on the Sunday
  • you will receive a small welcome pack on arrival which will include, amongst other things, a recipe book with all the food eaten over the duration of your stay
